IKGPTU's Business Incubation Centre organized Entrepreneurship orientation sessions

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, October 7, 2024: The Business Incubation Centre (BIC) of I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) organized an Entrepreneurship orientation session for its students. This expert session was organized in association with Punjab State Startup Cell.

The event was mentored by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal & Registrar Dr.S.K.Misra.

The expert session was followed by a startup pitching competition. In this event, University students of various departments showcased their entrepreneurial skill & talents.

The students presented groundbreaking ideas and startups to a panel of industry experts, investors, and professors.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal was the Chief Guest during the valedictory session of the event. He gave prizes to the winning participants. VC Prof (Dr.) Mittal said that the University is committed to provide startup opportunities to its students by providing all the required support in terms of co- working space, mentorship, funding and patenting. He further said that University students are on the way to become successful entrepreneurs as their ideas are innovative and have market viability, and scalability.

Speaking on the occasion as Guest of Honor University Registrar Dr.S.K.Misra said that IKGPTU is committed to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship through various programs and initiatives. The annual Business Pitching Competition is just one example of how the university provides students with the tools, resources, and opportunities to turn their ideas into successful businesses.

Dr. Munish Jindal, CEO, Hover Robotics, Anima Mishra, Founder, Ekara Financial Services Pvt Ltd, Dr.Amarpal Singh Walia, Manager, Startup Punjab were also joined the event as guest of honour. They also lead the jury panel for the competitions. Dr. Girish Sapra, Shriya Maini and Swaraj were distinguished speaker who shared their entrepreneurial journey with the audience.

University students Shivam Sharma, Vikalp and Jai Shive stood first, Ishmeet Kaur with her idea ‘Karya Kaksh’ was runner up of the event and Isha & Vansh Bhutani won the third position with their idea ‘Healthy tails’.
