Impactful stall by Enactus Team during 13th Rose Festival of Panjab University
Enactus Panjab University participated in the 3 days Rose Festival of Panjab University by putting up an effective stall displaying products made by underprivileged communities in collaboration with Developing Indigenous Resources-India (DIR-India), Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. and Corporate Sustainability Council, Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CSC WICCI), Chandigarh. The team is delighted to be a part of this event, sharing the vision of social entrepreneurship and impactful initiatives, said Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team and State Vice president of CSC WICCI, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, February 11, 2024: Enactus Panjab University participated in the 3 days Rose Festival of Panjab University by putting up an effective stall displaying products made by underprivileged communities in collaboration with Developing Indigenous Resources-India (DIR-India), Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. and Corporate Sustainability Council, Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CSC WICCI), Chandigarh. The team is delighted to be a part of this event, sharing the vision of social entrepreneurship and impactful initiatives, said Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team and State Vice president of CSC WICCI, Chandigarh.
Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University visited the stall and appreciated the efforts of Enactus team under the able leadership of Prof. Kapoor and said that she is very glad that this team is doing societal outreach activities on regular basis and is bringing laurels to the Panjab University by bagging various awards on National and International level.
The products from ongoing projects were put up for promotion and sale, said Aman Sagar, Director of Operations, Enactus team. He conveyed that various pottery products under project Dhra and cloth based products including eco-friendly reusable cloth based sanitary napkins under Project Uday were displayed. Under third ongoing project, Dhoop made from waste flowers collected from temples by Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh was displayed. The ladies of self-help groups from Maloya & Dhanas are making dhoop and organic colours under Arpan project of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh (MCC). Enactus team collaborated with MCC for this innovative project in November 2023 for promotion and marketing as it aligns with the mission and objectives of Enactus i.e. using business as a catalyst for positive social, economic and environmental impact, said Prof. Kapoor.
There was a great footfall and sale during these 3 days’ festival and the funds raised from sales would go to the respective project community, conveyed Shubham Dhiman, President of Enactus team. He told that the visitors of the stall were awed by the Dhoop made from waste flowers and were made aware of the benefits of using cloth based sanitary napkins. The stall served as a vibrant hub of creativity and impact. From empowering women entrepreneurs to promoting environmental sustainability, Enactus showcased its commitment to making a difference. The stall attracted a diverse audience, including students, faculty members and members of the local community.
