In a bid to help increase overall voting percentage and on DEO's appeal, hotels/restaurants agree to offer discounts for voters who vote on June 1
On the appeal of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney and in a bid to increase voting percentage during the upcoming Lok Sabha-2024 elections, hotels/restaurants from different parts of the city have agreed to offer discounts on food items to voters with inked finger on voting day.
Ludhiana, March 22, 2024: On the appeal of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney and in a bid to increase voting percentage during the upcoming Lok Sabha-2024 elections, hotels/restaurants from different parts of the city have agreed to offer discounts on food items to voters with inked finger on voting day.
In a meeting with hotels/restaurants at Bachat Bhawan, Sawhney said that that hotels/restaurants could play a crucial role in motivating residents to come out in large numbers when the district goes to the poll on June 1. She said that the Ludhiana administration has aimed to achieve the voting percentage of more than 70 percent this time for which all the stakeholders must give their fulsome support.
Sawhney expressed hope that this initiative will encourage more people to turn up at the polling booths and take part in the democratic process.
Later, the representatives from Moti Mahal Deluxe Restaurant, Greens Hotel, Hotel Grand, Home Cook, Malhotra Regency, Bistro Flamme Bois, Hotel Leela Classic, Hotel Elegance and Elegance Regency, Bistro 226 The Edge, Tokkyo-I Pavillion Mall, Hyatt Regency, Hotel 99 Square, Hotel Rajja, J9 Bar Exchange, Baklavi Bar and Kitchen and others assured that they will launch such offers in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the managements of different malls were also asked to install selfies' corners, EVM demonstration booths, banners to motivate the people for their massive participation in the voting exercise.
Managements of different malls including Pavillion mall, Silver Arc mall etc participated in the meetings conducted by the DEO Sawhney and assured their fulsome support to the administration.
