Inaugural of the CSDE Summer Course on Data Analysis and Visualisation Using Python

Chandigarh, July 3, 2023: Under the aegis of the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Panjab University, Chandigarh, the inaugural function of the Skill Enhancement Summer Course on Data Analysis and Visualisation Using Python took place today. The Course is open to students from all streams and disciplines currently enrolled in any undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programme at Panjab University or its affiliated colleges. Steered by expert academicians and practitioners, the Course will empower the participants with the knowledge and skills to unravel the analytical side of decision-making.

Prof. Suveera Gill, Honorary Director of the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, formally welcomed the distinguished guests and participants and set an encouraging tone for the upcoming days of learning. The Chief Guest, Prof Harsh Nayyar, Director, Research & Development Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh, addressed the audience, emphasising the relevance of the role of the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. According to him, knowledge, skills, competencies, and employability must evolve in the present skill gap and conventional teaching curricula. Dr. Amreek Singh, the Additional Director (Avalanche Forecasting Division), Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Chandigarh, was the keynote speaker at the event. He presented the relevance of data in predictive modelling and the development of decision support systems. Dr. Vishal Sharma, Coordinator of the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, concluded the event with his vote of thanks.
