Ludhiana, March 7, 2013: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Ludhiana in collaboration with Auto Parts Manufacturers Association, Ludhiana is organising National Vendor Development Programme cum Buyers – Sellers Meet/ Industrial Exhibition at Institute of Auto Parts and Hand Tools Technology , Ludhiana from March 7-9.

The main objective of this event is to bring micro, small, medium, large enterprises and large government buyers/PSUs s on a common platform and also help in information sharing on their requirements.

In its inaugural function held on Thursday, G.S. Kahlon, President, Auto Parts Manufactures Association, Ludhiana and Manjit Singh Khalsa welcomed the Chief Guest of the programme Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha and Ramesh K. Pandey, Joint Development Commissioner, office of the Development Commissioner, MSME, New Delhi -Guest of Honour.

Atwal inaugurated the  event. While inaugurating the exhibition, he said that such type of events bring together capable MSEs and large enterprises on a common platform and also help in information sharing on their requirements. He discussed the growth of Punjab Industry through different stages of times.  He also discussed the challenges being faced by MSEs of Punjab in the changing industrial scenario.

R.K. Pandey, Joint Development Commissioner (MSME), apprised of the initiatives of Ministry of MSME to provide marketing support and improving the competitiveness of MSEs. He expressed his hope that this National Vendor Development Programme will go a long way in the development of new partnerships, relations and enhanced business outcomes. He also discussed the mandatory procurement act and other schemes with the participant.

Barinder Singh Nagi, Assistant Director, MSME Development Institute, Ludhiana spoke about the need of organising National Vendor Development Programme. This type of programme helps the micro enterprises to improve the quality of their products through technical discussion consultation with technical person of Medium and Large Enterprises.

S.S. Dhillon addressed the participants and said that Government of India is aware of the severe constraints in managing enterprises under which MSE units operate. The sector is being provided support by the Centre for making them globally competitive and achieve success in market. This event is also one of the initiatives under the marketing support efforts for MSEs. He also informed other policy measures of Ministry of MSME meant for growth of MSME sector.

Mahesh Khanna, G.M., DIC, Ludhiana expressed his views about the need of such type of events in the present scenario. He congratulates MSME-DI and Auto Parts Manufactures Association, Ludhiana for organising this exhibition for the development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

B.S. Sanga, G.M., Institute of Auto Parts and Hand Tools Technology, Ludhiana and S.B. Singh, Consultant also apprised of the history of auto parts industries in the state of Punjab.

Ordinance Cable Factory, Chandigarh, Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala, Diesel Loco Modernization Workshop Patiala, Northern Railway, New Delhi M/s Preet Tractor Nabha displayed their products in Vendor development programme cum Buyers- Sellers meet at Ludhiana.

About 200 Micro, Small, Medium enterprises and Government Production Departments are participating in NVDP and displacing their products in the Exhibition.

Manoj Sharma, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Ludhiana also spoke.
