Jalandhar, July 27, 2024: Doaba College, Jalandhar, proudly announces the inauguration of its latest infrastructural addition, the DCJ Delight Student Recreation Centre. The grand ceremony marked a significant milestone in the college's ongoing development.
The centre was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Chander Mohan, President of Arya Shiksha Mandal and the Doaba College Managing Committee. Joining the event virtually was Lord Swraj Paul, an illustrious alumnus of Doaba College and MIT, USA. Lord Paul generously donated ₹20 lakh for the construction of this recreation centre, dedicated in memory of his beloved wife, Lady Aruna Paul. The ceremony also featured the unveiling of a portrait of Lord Swraj Paul and Lady Aruna Paul.
In his address, Sh. Chander Mohan expressed heartfelt appreciation for Lord Swraj Paul's unwavering love, interest, and generosity towards Doaba College, Jalandhar. He highlighted the importance of such a space in fostering informal discussions and deliberations among students, essential for their holistic development. Sh. Chander Mohan congratulated everyone on the successful inauguration and encouraged faculty and students to collaborate and share ideas in this new space.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, in his welcome address, extended gratitude to Sh. Chander Mohan for his motivation, leadership, and guidance. He also expressed deep appreciation to Lord Swraj Paul for his enduring generosity and affection for his alma mater.
Kamna Raj Aggarwal, representing Lord Paul’s family, spoke about Lord Swraj Paul's humble beginnings and his continued dedication to Jalandhar, even after seven decades. She expressed hope that the DCJ Delight would become a hub for networking, crucial for student success.
The occasion was further graced by Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer, Arun Mittal, Member, and Dr. Sat Pal Gupta, Member of the Doaba College Managing Committee, who attended as Guests of Honor.
Dr. Suresh Mago was honored for his commendable efforts in the construction of the centre.
The event concluded on a lively note with captivating performances by the students, adding a vibrant touch to the celebration.
