Chandigarh July 6, 2023: The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig inaugurated Panjab University incubation centre developed under RUSA 2.0. Prof. Amit Chauhan, Incharge incubation centre informed that the centre will help the start-ups and innovative projects of the Students of Panjab university and its affiliated colleges by providing mentoring and financial aids.  The centre has no boundaries of the area and is open to all ideas of any field for the betterment of society. The school and college level events/competitions will also be organised to motivate the students about the start-up. For all these activities, the incubation centre has got funding of one crore in the first phase and will get three crore for projects and three crore for building in the next phase.

Prof. Amit Chauhan further informed that the centre will also facilitate the incubatees in the centre. Any student having an idea, an incubation centre will help him to incubate the same at the centre. Centre has a number of facilities such as AC chambers, Board room to interact with experts of other industries, even shortlisting of ideas can also be done in online mode and no need to come physically to the centre, pantry area, WiFi, etc. Presently, two incubates have joined the centre. General Aeronautics Pvt Ltd  is a Drone Based Manufacturing Company which is working on manufacturing agricultural drones and have settled their operational and maintenance sector in the incubation centre. They will provide the students with developing their skills towards drone technology and softwares. They will help the students of Panjab university to acquire knowledge in the field of Drone Technology. The second one, Terafac Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is powering smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 upskilling. They provide IoT and Automation solutions to manufacturing industries, and are also upskilling the youth for Smart Manufacturing through their training programs and equipment. They will also provide training to the students of university in the field of automation, IoT, robotics and digital twinning.  

University RUSA co-ordinator Prof. Rajeev K Puri, Additional state project director, RUSA, UT Chandigarh, senior faculty of the university, incubatees and staff of the incubation centre also graced the occasion by their presence. Tree plantation is also done by the vice chancellor and other dignitaries on the occasion with the support of the horticulture department of the University.
