Independence Day celebrated in Doaba College
The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated its 78th Independence Day on Thursday, with great enthusiasm and fervor.
Jalandhar, August 15, 2024: The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated its 78th Independence Day on Thursday, with great enthusiasm and fervor.
Er. Amardev, Assistant Professor, NITTTR, Miss. Meenal Verma, Architect and Social Worker, Girish Sapra, CEO, Waste Management and Rohit, Hawk Riders graced the occasion as the chief guest and guests of honour respectively. They were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Kuldeep Yadav, Prof. Ira Sharma, Dr. Rajiv Khosla, Prof. Surjit Kaur, Prof. Sonia Kalra,Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, NCC cadets and students. The ceremony commenced with the Flag hoisting and the National Anthem.
The Chief guest highlighted the importance of freedom of mind from self-fears. Miss Meenal Verma inspired the gathering to work with responsibly for the conservation of Mother Earth for Sustainable life.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, in his address, recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters on this national festival. He also motivated the students to take inspiration from them and be dedicated towards their duties to make the nation proud.
The spectacular performances in the form of solo dance, group dance, solo song, patriotic dance, and Punjabi dance, giddha by students of various classes of school and college, namely Priyanka, Ishita, Tejas, Sujal depicted different facets of the glorious freedom struggle.
After the pledge taking ceremony and prize distribution the event culminated with the spectacular performances of Bhangra.
