Independence Day Celebration at Panjab University

Chandigarh August 16, 2023: The Independence Day program at Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, began with hoisting of  National Flag at PU Parade Ground by Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, who graced the occasion as the chief guest for the event.
 
Addressing the gathering, PU VC Prof. Renu Vig highlighted various achievements of Panjab University. She highlighted the achievements made by various Departments and centres of the University and thanked the University fraternity for taking the University to the greater heights. Earlier, Prof. Y.P.Verma, Registrar, PU welcomed the gathering.
 
The program saw a lively march-past ceremony by PU Security Guards, NCC cadets, NSS and students of Ankur School. The cultural programme thereafter commenced with the patriotic song by Music Department, followed by a patriotic dance by students of GGS Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School Ratwara and dance by students of Ankur School. It was followed by Band Formation on theme Mera Desh Mera Mulk by Ankur School. 
 
Thereafter awards, commendation certificate, cash prizes and Mementos were presented for the outstanding performance to employees of the Panjab University which includes Sita Rani, Senior Assistant, Ranbir, Temp. Cleaner, Virendra Singh, Assistant Security Officer, Tilak Raj, Daily Wage Security Guard, Anesh Kumar Pathania, Superintendent, Satwant Singh, Senior Assistant, Neelam, Senior Assistant, Amita Devi, Daily Wage Clerk, Rakhi Kaushal, Daily Wage Clerk, Ajay Singh, Remdex File Lifter, Er. Amandeep Singh, Assistant Engineer, Sh. Damodar Dass, Senior Scientific Assistant, Sanju Kumar, Daily Wage Security Guard, Shashi Kala, Daily Wage Clerk, Late Ramesh Yadav, Assistant Section Officer(received by his family member), Anoop Patyal, Temp. Technician and  Madhu, Senior Assistant.
