Independence Day celebration at RCF Kapurthala
78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala on Thursday. On this occasion Manjul Mathur, General Manager, RCF unfurled the National Flag and inspected the contingents of Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Schools and Bharat Scouts and Guides in the parade.
Kapurthala, August 16, 2024: 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala on Thursday. On this occasion Manjul Mathur, General Manager, RCF unfurled the National Flag and inspected the contingents of Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Schools and Bharat Scouts and Guides in the parade.
General Manager Mathur, while congratulating all the people present on the occasion of the anniversary of the country's independence said that we all are very fortunate that we are the citizens of a great country like India. He said that this national festival is a very special occasion on which we remember those bravehearts and patriots, as a result of which we are citizens of independent India today. Highlighting the achievements of RCF, Shri Mathur said that many new projects have been given to RCF this year, which includes manufacturing of 615 coaches under Amrit Bharat Project, 978 GS, 146 LSCN, 68 power cars and various other new variants. Besides , RCF has been asked to manufacture 02 chair car rakes under the prestigious Vande Bharat project of Indian Railways. Three rakes are soon going to roll out for Udhampur Baramulla rail link by RCF soon. The hard working employees of RCF are working hard to achieve these new goals. Narrow gauge coaches for the Kalka-Shimla railway will also come into service soon. Apart from this, production of self-propelled accident relief train coaches and automatic inspection train with a speed of 160 kmph has also been entrusted upon RCF, which is in progress. The first Vande Metro train with 16 coaches is also set for roll out, this month. Mathur said that RCF has received the prestigious 'Golden Peacock Award' for the year 2024 under the 'Railway' category in the field of energy efficiency. RCF has received this award for the first time in the railway sector.
Mathur in his address, specifically mentioned the achievements of all the departments.
An impressive cultural program was also presented at the end of the function. On the occasion of Independence Day, RCF Administrative Office, Lake Complex, various roundabouts, Colony Gates were decorated with colorful lights which presented an enchanting sight at night.
