Phagwara, March 24, 2014: Community Health Centre (CHC), Bara Pind, on Monday organised a special function on the eve of World Tuberculosis Day at its campus. Nursing students, staff of the CHC and local people participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Medical Officer Dr B.S Kahlon showed the concern that India has around 26 percent of world’s TB patient. “It was wrong to assume that TB is disease only of lungs rather any part could be affected accepted nails and hairs,” he said, adding that people with weak immunity becomes easily prone to this disease. He advised that persons with 2 weeks of cough symptoms should immediately consult the doctor.   
Block Extension Educator Preetinder Singh said that “after eradicating polio we have to work together for eliminating this disease.”
Health Supervisor Jagat Ram Bhatti informed about various facilities provided by the government to TB patients.
Dr Avinash Magnotra was especially present on the occasion.
