A former Mumbai U16s captain, Pushkar made his international debut in 2022 after he moved to Kenya for better playing opportunities. His performances in the Kenyan domestic circuit have been a force to reckon with this season. The left-hand batter’s selection for the World Cup qualifiers was aided by his dominating performance in the 2023 Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) Super Division 50 Overs League. He finished as the league's second-best batter with 730 runs in just 14 innings.

Kenya face Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, and hosts Namibia in the continental tournament, which runs until 30th November. Only two sides from the seven-team qualifiers qualify for the world event slated to take place in the West Indies and the USA between 4 and 30 June 2024.
