Indian Army Cycle Expedition culminated at Khasa
A ten member team from the Indian Army’s Western Command successfully conducted a daunting 700 kilometer cycling expedition from 20 September to 29 September 2023. ‘The Thunderbolts Cycling Expedition’ was conducted to motivate the youth to join the Indian Army and promote fitness amongst today’s population. The expedition spearheaded and traversed through the plains of Punjab and along the hilly terrain of Himachal Pradesh.
Jalandhar, September 20, 2023: A ten member team from the Indian Army’s Western Command successfully conducted a daunting 700 kilometer cycling expedition from 20 September to 29 September 2023. ‘The Thunderbolts Cycling Expedition’ was conducted to motivate the youth to join the Indian Army and promote fitness amongst today’s population. The expedition spearheaded and traversed through the plains of Punjab and along the hilly terrain of Himachal Pradesh.
The officer along with nine other personnel undertook the expedition from Khasa, Amritsar to reach Dharmshala while cycling through Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Amb, Jwalamukhi and Sujanpur Tihra. The team returned via Nurpur, Pathankot, Mukerian, Tibri and finally culminated at Khasa. The expedition was completed within 10 days and aimed at promoting a fitness culture amongst youth, especially to those motivated to join the Armed Forces.
