Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) organized a two-day free medical aid camp for the farmers who came to Kisan Mela at PAU.
Ludhiana, September 24, 2022: Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) organized a two-day free medical aid camp for the farmers who came to Kisan Mela at PAU.
The medical team examined about 1000 patients during the camp and gave them free medicines. In this medical team, Dr. Arun Mitra, Dr. Gurbir Singh, Dr. Suraj Dhillon, Dr. Rajat Grover, Dr. Ankush Kumar, Dr. Seerat Sekhon, Dr. Jaswinder Singh besides paramedical staff Anod Kumar, Sanjit Kumar, Maninder Singh, Manjot and Satveer Singh were involved. Most of the patients were suffering from stomach gas, nausea, vomiting, joint pain, fever and headache. It is worth mentioning that IDPD during the Kisan Andolan, conducted more than 50 medical camps for the farmers sitting on the borders of Delhi, for which the leaders of the Kisan Andolan praised this organization more than once. Under the leadership of Dr. Arun Mitra, who is the vice president of this organization, free medical camps were conducted at various places in the country such as during the floods in Uttarakhand and during the earthquake in Kashmir.
On this occasion, pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness against the exorbitant prices of medicines, in which the government was demanded to control the exorbitant profits being taken on medicines, to bring the factories of medicines into the public sector, to make medicines in the public sector, to start the closed factories , their manufacturing cost and selling price (MRP) should be written on the drugs in bold letters and all the drugs should be declared as essential drugs.
