Ludhiana, June 29, 2013: Onkar Singh Pahwa, CMD, M/S Avon Cycles Limited, Shiv Parshad Mittal Chairman of M/S Aarti Steel Limited and Gurmeet Singh Kular, President United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association held a meeting with the City Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria here today, to discuss the difficulties being faced by people on GT Road.
The delegates pointed out that on certain occasions, vehicular traffic is blocked on the road by protestors, causing a great inconvenience to people. They also pointed out that there existed so many garbage dumps at many points such as Dholewal Chowk , near Dugri Canal Bridge and adjoining Vishivkarma Park. They believed that these garbage dumps deface beauty of the city. They suggested that the dumps should be like that they should add beauty to the city and these dumps should not become a hindrance in vehicular traffic.
The delegation also sought that Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (LMC) should take into confidence the representatives of the industry in the development and the beautification plans.
Also, the industrialists pointed out that cleaning of sewerage lines has not been done, resulting to which sewer water gets overflow and creates unhygienic problems for people. The delegates also suggested that LMC should start online services for water and sewerage bills and disposal bill in the larger interest of people and also to simply the payment making system.
