Industries Department to conduct boiler operation engineers examination to fill vacant posts
The examination will comprise of written examination and an oral examination
Chandigarh: The Department of Industries & Commerce would be conducting Boiler Operation Engineers Examination with an objective to infuse fresh talent and enhance operational efficiency.
Disclosing this the Industries and Commerce Minister Punjab Mr. Sunder Sham Arora said the exam to be conducted tentatively in August 2020 as per the provisions of The Boilers Act, 1923 and the Boiler Operation Engineers Rules, 2011. The Govt. has not taken this Exam since 2010. The interested candidates possessing the requisite qualifications and experience may apply on the Invest Punjab Portal before July 10, 2020.
A vacuum was being felt in the total strength of Boiler Operation Engineers in the state, he said adding the new recruitment would further scale up efficiency level besides increasing strength of technical officers in Industry.
Keeping this in consideration, he said examination has been planned in the current year. To maintain a high level of examination, a Board of Examiners comprising of members having high academic and practical knowledge of modern boiler practices has been constituted by the State Govt.
The examination will comprise of written examination and an oral examination. The written examination will be conducted by an eminent institute-Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. The application submission along with submission of documents and examination fee will be online, so as to maintain a hassle free and transparent process.
All boilers with heating area more than one thousand square meters are to be run under the direct charge of a Boiler Operation Engineer.
