Infection Prevention Week concludes
The Department of Microbiology and the Hospital Infection Control Committee, DMC&H successfully celebrated Infection Prevention Week 13th to 19th October. The week-long event aimed to promote awareness about infection control and included a series of interactive activities, competitions, and training sessions.
Ludhiana, October 23, 2024: The Department of Microbiology and the Hospital Infection Control Committee, DMC&H successfully celebrated Infection Prevention Week 13th to 19th October. The week-long event aimed to promote awareness about infection control and included a series of interactive activities, competitions, and training sessions.
The concluding session was organized at DMC&H Dumra Auditorium recently. Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, Sh Bipin Gupta along with Treasurer Mukesh Kumar; Principal Dr G S Wander; Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal; Medical Superintendent Dr Sandeep Sharma; Dr.Sarit Sharma, Professor of Community Medicine & Sr. Admin Incharge of Hospital Infection Control Committee and other faculty members from Department of Microbiology graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Bipin Gupta lauded the efforts of Department of Microbiology for conducting a week long activities to spread awareness among the masses regarding infection prevention.
In is message, Principal, Dr G S Wander, highlighted that infection control is key to keeping both patients and healthcare workers safe. By following proper hygiene and safety measures, we can prevent infections and create a healthier environment for everyone.
Dr Veenu Gupta, Professor & Head Department of Microbiology, DMC&H congratulated all the winners and said that Infection control is everyone's responsibility. When we work together and follow safety practices, we help ensure a safer and healthier workplace.
Throughout the week many activities including quiz, poster making competition, mime act by BSc nursing students, a play on infection awareness by MBBS batch 2023, and a hand hygiene play by the Residents Microbiology and Infection control nurses, awareness session for PG resident doctors, rangoli making competition by by B.Sc. MLT and paramedical students, awareness sessions on infection prevention across various patient care areas of DMC&H and HDHI by nursing staff and Infection Control Nurses (ICNs).
The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates, acknowledging the efforts of all participants.
