Department of Gastroenterology, DMCH organised IBD awareness patient meet to motivate and support patient suffering from IBD.
Ludhiana, May 26, 2022: Department of Gastroenterology, DMCH organized IBD awareness patient meet to motivate and support patient suffering from IBD.
Around 70 patients and their attendant were participated and they were made aware about various aspect of IBD during this meet.
IBD is a chronic disease where patients complain of diarrhea, blood in stools, pain abdomen, fever, weight loss and loss of appetite.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ajit Sood Professor & Head Department of Gastroenterology said that IBD is increasing day by day, around 1.5 million patients are affected by IBD and require constant monitoring and lifelong therapy it increase.
Giving information on the occasion, Dr Ajit Sood and Dr Varun Mehta gave answers to various queries asked by the patients and their attendants and various dietary tips were also shared by experts with the audience.
Other faculty members from Department of Gastroenterology including Dr Omesh Goyal , Dr Ramit Mahajan and Dr Arshdeep Singh were also present on the occasion.
This programme concluded with the circulation of educational booklet to the patients and cake cutting ceremony.
