Initiatives taken by district administration to make aware youngsters about their Right To Vote

Winners 0f different competitions from various colleges in Declamations, Painting, Rangoli, Debates and Nukkar Nataks saw movie in cinema hall along with various officials of district administration
Nawan Shahr, 14 September 14, 2016: Various activities are undergoing in the district to push the youngsters aged about 18 to 19 years to get their votes prepared under the sweep Program. District Election officer cum Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Shri Vipul Ujjawal I.A.S. initiated a new process with a motto to make aware the young persons of 18-19 years about their right to vote its importance and usage. For this purpose few selections were made among the first time voters of age group 18-19 years, who are filling up the forms for getting their voter identity cards and new votes for the first time and they were shown a movie by the administration free of cost.
Election Registration Officer cum Sub Divisional Magistrate Jeevan Jagjot P.C.S. told to these young fellows while making them aware about the importance of their right to vote that we all must understand the value of our right to vote along with that we should also make effort to bring awareness in other people about its importance. He further told that today we are showing few students a movie free of cost and earlier also upon the directions of District Election officer cum Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Shri Vipul Ujjawal I.A.S. we conducted competitions from various colleges in various fields like Declamations, Painting, Rangoli, Debates and Nukkar Nataks and distributed the movie tickets of a Punjabi Movie to the winners. In the district 32 students from Nawan Shehar, 48 students from Balachaur and from Tehsil Banga 33 students led by the Naib Tehsildar were shown the movie as a reward under the sweep program. AT this occasion Tehsildar Elections Harish Kumar and Kanungo Deepak Kumar were also present.
