Jalandhar, September 7, 2023: Inner Wheel Club Jalandhar celebrated Teachers Day, Janamashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi with great enthusiasm at hotel President. Members came dressed up as school children or teachers. The celebrations began with a melodious Ganesh Stuti by Nilu Mahendru followed by a very energetic dance performance on janamashtmi by Sangeeta Mahendru and Madhu Dhawan.
Various district trophies and certificates that were awarded to club at district award function “ehsaas- e - ulfat “ were also handed over to the executive team. Three new members were inducted.
A beautiful poem on Inner Wheel was recited by past President Pushpa Arora. The members enjoyed fun game on Teacher’s Day theme.
Jaswant Minhas spoke on teachers in her wonderful way and PDC Vineeta Seth spoke a few lines in Sanskrit and sang soulful Ganesh Stuti. Secretary Anju Sharma wished birthdays and anniversaries to the members with gifting them plants and singing beautiful songs for them.
Three competitions namely Handi decoration, Bansuri decoration and Fancy dress on back to school theme were held in the meeting
Many members participated in the competitions. The judgement was done by our senior members.
The meeting was very well organised and managed by project directors Seema Arora and Riti Setia under the guidance of President Dr. Harjinder Kaur and Secretary Anju Sharma.
Vote of thanks was extended by Vice President Poonam Jagota.
The meeting was attended by 48 members.
On Teacher’s Day Inner Wheel Club Jalandhar also honoured 3 renowned and distinguished teachers namely Dr.Suman Chopra (Lyallpur Khalsa College), Prof. Dr.Poornima (Rtd) K.M.V. College, and Prem Lata- JBT Teacher(Rtd) for their hard work and dedication.
On the same day 10 chairs with side tables for students were donated to the coaching Institute in Dada NagarJalandhar.
