Innocent Hearts Celebrates Teej Festival with Enthusiasm
The Teej festival was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm in all five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt. Jandiala Road, and Kapurthala Road).
Jalandhar, August 05, 2024: The Teej festival was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm in all five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt. Jandiala Road, and Kapurthala Road). The young children from Pre-Nursery to UKG captivated everyone with their splendid and enchanting performances. The festival, filled with fun and frolic, saw the children participating with immense zeal, joy, and dedication. The objective of celebrating Teej is to rekindle the love of children for their Indian culture and tradition. On this occasion, the school premise was decorated with fresh flowers and colorful ribbons. The children looked very charming in their traditional attire. The girls showcased their cultural heritage by wearing colorful and beautiful bangles on their wrists and adorning their hands with mehndi. The mesmerizing performances of Gidda and Bhangra by the children won everyone's hearts. The children enjoyed swinging and singing traditional Teej songs. In the classrooms, the teachers explained to the children that the Teej festival symbolizes greenery and refers to the time when Indian farmers sow their crops.
Sharmila Nakra (Deputy Director Cultural Affairs) informed the children about the significance of the Teej festival and said that these kind of cultural programs can connect the students to their country's culture.
