Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated World Wetlands day

Jalandhar, February 2, 2022: The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar under the aegis of DISHA - an initiative by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust celebrated World Wetlands Day with the theme - ‘Wetlands Action for People and Nature’.
Various online activities were organised to raise awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and planet and the immense need of restoring wetlands. NSS volunteer Vishali Arora achieved first prize for disseminating the message of valuing, managing, restoring and loving wetlands through her realistic paintings. Preeti and Vishali Arora bagged first prize in Orizuru competition by creatively crafting migratory birds symbolising the importance of wetlands in saving the lives of many endangered species. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh, NSS Programme officer Ms. Tarunjyoti Kaur and all the NSS volunteers took an online pledge to take necessary steps for restoring, conserving and using wetlands sustainably.
