Innocent Hearts College of Education organised drug awareness programme
The student-teacher and the faculty members took a pledge not to take any kind of drug in the life
Jalandhar: A ‘Drug Awareness Programme’ was organized at Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar. Dr.Vivek Joshi, social activist and motivational speaker and Professor Raghbir Singh, retired Associate Professor from department of Punjabi, Doaba College, Jalandhar were the resource persons.
The Programme was started by showing a short film by Dr. Joshi about how technology has evolved and brought many changes in our lives. The video explained how the world is changing rapidly, and one needs to be aware and change with changing times, otherwise there may be people who can make a person drunkard. He showed another film based on various kinds of drugs and their ill effects was also shown in the programme .
Professor Raghbir Singh enlightened the audience with the ill-effects of drugs and how it affects the normal functioning of the nervous system. He also briefed about the rehabilitation of the addictive ones. He appealed the students to stay away from the addictive substances and aware the youth about ill effects of drugs. He concluded his talk mentioning various precautions like to find other ways to relax, not believing in false encouragements by fake friends, choosing friends wisely, remain attentive and aware of drugs and always trust your family. The lecture was followed by a Question and Answer session.

Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh thanks the resource person for sparing his valuable time and for sharing best knowledge on “Drug Awareness”. He said, Drug addiction is a serious problem among the youth and controlling it is a big challenge. For any such endeavor to be a top success, it is necessary that the creative energy of the youth is overcome by danger.
