To announce this achievement , a special press conference was organised where Dr. Shri Ganesh, Dr. Ramesh Sood, Dr. Anup Bowry, Dr. Saurabh Sood and Dr. Rohan Bowry were mainly present.
On this occasion, Dr. Rohan Bowry and Dr. Saurabh Sood informed that Smile Pro is being made available in 'Eye Clinique A Refractive Suite', which is a unit of IHES Hospital, Private Limited, at Innocent Hearts Eye Centre.
Dr Shri Ganesh, a world-renowned and experienced SMILE Surgeon and the manufacturer of SMILE Pro and VisuMax 800 has come especially to unveil this technology. India's first SMILE Pro was installed in his center itself. SMILE Pro technology is the latest and safe robotic based laser technology, which is designed to provide glasses free vision. SMILE Pro is a surgery in which no flap is made. It is a lenticule based procedure. Generally a 270 degree flap is made in LASIK but in SMILE a lenticule is made in 360 degrees with laser in the middle part of the cornea which is called stroma and in which a cut of only two millimeters (10 degrees) is made from which that lenticule is taken out and it is painless and its recovery is very fast. With this painless surgery, the patient can do his daily activities completely within two days. With this surgery, the glasses of those people aged between 18 to 40 years who have myopia, hypermetropia or myopic astigmatism can be removed.
Dr. Rohan Bowry mentioned that the software for hypermetropia will also come in two to three months and then surgery will start on it. This technique corrects eye problems using laser and helps in removing glasses.
