Under the aegis of the Disha-an Initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, a session on fitness through yoga was organised at Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town to observe International Yoga Day.

Jalandhar, June 21, 2022: Under the aegis of the Disha-an Initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, a session on fitness through yoga was organised at Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town to observe International Yoga Day. It was organised for the whole fraternity (teaching and non-teaching) of Innocent Hearts. Parents and students also participated in the yoga session. It was conducted by the certified yoga trainers from the Ministry of Ayush and Sri Sri School of Yoga, Sonia Aeron and Meena Gupta.  They asserted that yoga is an art and science of healthy living. It improves strength, balance and flexibility. They taught proper techniques to do various asanas like Bhujang asana, Virbhadr Asana, Markat asana and Surya Namaskar. Then the focus was shifted to breathing exercises, Pranayam. They demonstrated pranayamas ‘Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati and made everyone do it.  Sonia Aeron explained the benefits of each asana and pranayama. She motivated everyone to get fit and don’t quit. 

Dr Anup Bowry, chairperson of Innocent Hearts Group mentioned that health should be the priority of everyone. So, everyone should do one or the other thing to remain fit and yoga is a spiritual discipline based on science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body.
