Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organised 2- day FDP
FDP held on the topic “effective teaching and learning in new normal of pandemic era”
Jalandhar: In the endeavour to upgrade the teaching - learning methodologies during pandemic, Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions has conducted 2- Day Virtual Faculty Development Programme on “Effective Teaching & Learning in New Normal of Pandemic Era”. Six Resource persons from diverse backgrounds including Central & abroad universities and industry namely Dr. Pallavi Pandit (Principal, RIEIT, Ropar Campus, Rail Majra), Prof. Raj Singh (HOD, Computer Science, Nigerian British University, Nigeria), Dr. Navneet Sharma (Asst. Prof, Dept. of Teacher Education, Central University of Himachal Pradesh), Dr. Ashutosh Sharma (Director, Rayat School of Management, Ropar Campus), Mr. Ashwani Kohli (Senior Vice President, Punjab chamber of small exporters) & Dr. Shailesh Tripathi (Group Director, Innocent Hearts) graced the occasion and expressed their views on topic.
The Event started with the welcome speech given by Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Dhanju (Academic Co-ordinator, Innocent Hearts), followed by inaugural speech of FDP given by Dr. Shailesh Tripathi (Group Director, Innocent Hearts)
Prof. Raj Singh (HOD, Computer Science, Nigerian British University, Nigeria) delivered the first session. He stated that an educator should provide the online lecture in small group of students to get maximum interaction with them to solve their queries and doubts.
The 2nd Speaker of the session was Dr. Pallavi Pandit (Principal, RIEIT, Ropar Campus, Rail Majra). She discussed in detail the economic impact of pandemic on teaching. She enlightened different ways to deal with economically weak sections and motivated the participants to go extra miles to fulfil the needs of students.
The 3rd Speaker of the session was Dr. Shailesh Tripathi (Group Director, Innocent Hearts). Dr. Tripathi motivated the participants to be more creative during virtual classroom to make the lecture effective and attractive for students. He inspired the participants to be a good learner first to become an effective educator.
The 2nd Day of FDP started with the session of Dr. Ashutosh Sharma (Director, Rayat School of Management, and Ropar Campus), Dr. Ashutosh emphasized on shifting the focus on preparedness as a goal in this pandemic. He also discussed the changes required in the curriculum in terms of Goal, Content, Approach and Evaluation. He also enlightened the participants with blended learning and Synchronous & Asynchronous modes of Evaluation.
The another speaker of day-2 was Mr. Ashwani Kohli (Senior Vice President, Punjab chamber of small exporters). His focus of discussion was to fulfil need of hardware & software for virtual teaching-learning approach. He stated that govt. and telecommunication companies should invest more to develop required infrastructure.
The last session of FDP was taken up by Dr. Navneet Sharma (Asst. Prof, Dept. of Teacher Education, Central University of Himachal Pradesh). He motivated participants for developing pedagogical relation with students so that they can themselves construct the knowledge. He emphasized on academic integrity of the educator.
At the end Dr. Shailesh Tripathi (Group Director, Innocent Hearts) presented concluding remarks and encouraged the participants to incorporate new ideas in their teaching methodology. He congratulated the whole IHGI family for the successful completion of Two Days online FDP.
Dr. Gagandeep Kaur (Academic Coordinator, Innocent Hearts) extended the vote of thanks for all the resource persons and participants. E-certificates were distributed to the participants.
