Innocent Hearts organized webinar on “Mucormycosis”

Jalandhar: To raise awareness regarding Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) among students, school of Medical Lab Science of Innocent Hearts Group organized a webinar on topic “Effect of Covid-19 on Ocular Health”. The Resource Person for the webinar was Dr. Tania Moudgil (Prof., Department of ophthalmology, PIMS, Jalandhar). 

Dr. Moudgil started the session with Ocular Manifestations of Covid-19 which included Kerato-Conjunctivitis, Dry Eye Disease and Mucormycosis. During the session, she acquainted the students with mucormycosis or black fungus which is spreading in India recently. The disease has been largely reported in post covid patients and patients with high sugar level. The resource person focused on theories of developing mucor, its symptoms and also preventive measures of the disease. She  recommend everyone to adopt correct sitting posture while using computer devices to get abstain from eye pain, redness in eyes, watery eyes, vision loss,  etc. She also clarified student’s doubts regarding fungal disease in Q/A round.

The webinar was organized by Head of Department Ms. Nidhi Sharma. She presented vote of thanks to Dr. Moudgill for sharing valuable information with students and faculty members.
