Innocent Hearts Schools Celebrate World Earth Day with Green Initiatives

Jalandhar, April 22, 2025: In observance of World Earth Day, Innocent Hearts Schools organized a variety of creative and engaging activities across its five campuses — Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt.-Jandiala Road, Noorpur Road, and Kapurthala Road — to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and community responsibility among students. The celebration was marked by enthusiastic student participation. Grade I students took part in a lively Fashion Show under the theme “Green is the New Trend – Walk for a Sustainable Future,” wearing eco-friendly outfits made from recycled and natural materials. Grades II & III creatively expressed their love for nature through a Colouring Activity on the theme ‘Nature’, producing beautiful and thoughtful artwork. Grade V students demonstrated innovation in the Trash to Treasure activity, turning waste materials into useful and decorative items, reinforcing the values of Recycling, Upcycling, and Sustainability. Grades VI & VII presented unique creations during a Best out of Waste Exhibition, highlighting the importance of repurposing discarded items to reduce environmental impact. The Eco Club Ambassadors of Grades VIII led a Clean-up Drive at a nearby park, actively promoting cleanliness, environmental care, and social responsibility.
Adding depth to the Earth Day initiatives, Grades IX and X participated in a Group Discussion (GD) on the topic “Harmful Impacts of Burning Stubble.” Students shared insightful points on how stubble burning contributes to air pollution, soil degradation, respiratory diseases, and climate change. The discussion encouraged students to explore eco-friendly alternatives and spread awareness within their communities. As part of the Earth Day observance, a special assembly was held where students pledged not to burn stubble, supporting the cause of clean air and responsible agricultural practices. The event not only celebrated the beauty of nature but also inspired students to adopt sustainable habits and take collective responsibility for preserving the environment. Innocent Hearts reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing eco-conscious citizens for a greener, healthier future.
