Jalandhar, November 20, 2014: The third of DST, Govt of India, New Delhi sponsored INSPIRE Camp at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya began with an lecture of Prof Bijay Singh, Senior Scientist Ex-ICAR National Professor. He was accorded a floral welcome by Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi principle of the college. Prof Bijay discussed the importance of magnesium, potassium, Sulphur, calcium etc as essential ingredients for the growth of crops. He also spoke about the optimum usage of water for the crops in the fields and discussed the concept of water pollution and its effects.
On its third day of the Winter Camp, P.G Department of Physics organised a trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City for the students participating in internship programme INSPIRE. This trip aims to enthuse its interns to revive their interest in the basic sciences that hold promising future in the present era of knowledge revolution.
Another lecture on ‘Stress Management’ was also organised for the students which was delivered by Dr Neha (Prof. Home Science Dept., KMV College), Dr. Neha elaborated the reasons for increasing level of stress in the lives of students. She also interacted with students and suggested the ways to overcome stress in life.
