INSTRUCTIONS: Educational institutions extracting money illegally from SC students be penalised

Chandigarh, November 15, 2012:  The Scheduled Castes Commission, Punjab has issued strict instructions to penalise all such government/private educational institutions extorting fee from the SC students unauthorisedly.

Disclosing this here today, Rajesh Bagha, Chairman SC Commission said that it has come to the notice of the Commission that some of the educational institutions have been charging fee money from the SC students illegally whose annual income is less than Rs.2 lac per annum. He said that written instructions have been issued to the authorities concerned to trace all such institutions and to start punitive action against these erring institutions.

Bagha further said that it has also been noticed that some of the institutions are not behaving well with the students/employees belonging to the SC community. He appealed to all the departmental head of different institutions to ensure healthy and unbiased treatment with the students/employees of the SC community.
