INTACH Ferozepur Chapter welcomes Saragarhi Foundation Members and British Army Delegates
Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Ferozepur Chapter organized a special programme “Heritage United: Honouring Bravery and Bond” to welcome Saragarhi Foundation members and British Army delegates at Dass & Brown World School.
Ferozepur, November 27, 2024: Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Ferozepur Chapter organized a special programme “Heritage United: Honouring Bravery and Bond” to welcome Saragarhi Foundation members and British Army delegates at Dass & Brown World School.
Guests included Anupreet Singh from Saragarhi Foundation Canada Chapter along with Chairman Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Joson, Principal Avtar Singh Minhas, Vice Principal Jatinder Singh Minhas, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Janjua, Vice Chairman Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, General Secretary Mandeep Kaur Gill. Apart from this, Santokh Singh, the descendant of Havildar Ishar Singh who was martyred in the Battle of Saragarhi, along with Ashok Kumar Chauhan, Delegate Warrant Officer of the British Army, were present on this occasion.
On arrival at Dass & Brown World School, the guests were welcomed by the members of INTACH Ferozepur Chapter with garlands of flowers, after which a discussion was held on the glorious history of Saragarhi. Speaking on the occasion, historian and convener of INTACH Ferozepur Chapter, Dr. Anirudh Gupta said that the Battle of Saragarhi is considered one of the greatest battles of the world and it is a matter of pride for Ferozepur district that most of the 21 soldiers martyred in this battle were from Ferozepur. He said that INTACH Ferozepur Chapter is continuously working to protect the heritage and history of Ferozepur. He said that the chapter is continuously making efforts in this regard so that the name of Ferozepur is registered in the world tourism map and maximum tourists come here so that the economy of this area also gets a boost.
He said that the Ferozepur chapter is continuously making efforts to set up a light and sound show at the Saragarhi Memorial soon, in which the Saragarhi Battle will be depicted so that maximum people can get information about this great battle.
Dr. Gurinderpal Josan thanked the Intech Ferozepur chapter on this occasion and shared interesting information about the history of the Saragarhi Battle with all the members and also presented a coffee table book written on the Saragarhi Battle.
On this occasion, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, Gurbej Singh Tibbi, Ashok Bahl, Dr. Ghazalpreet, Dr.KC Arora, Dr. Aman Chugh, Advocate J.S. Sodhi, Advocate Ashish Sharma, Advocate Vivek Jain, Deepak Sharma, Vipul Narang, Rajesh Verma, Vikram Ditya Sharma, Akshay Galhotra etc. were present.
