Inter-State weapon supply gang unearthed; 3 members arrested & 15 weapons recovered
Under the leadership of Dr. Kaustubh Sharma, Inspector General of Police Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana and Amneet Kondal, Senior Superintendent of Police Khanna, under supervision of Dr. Pragya Jain, Superintendent Police (Inv.),a special drive was launched to nab the criminals supplying weapons at inter-state level. Continuing the campaign, Pawanjeet PPS Deputy SP(D) Khanna, Rajesh Sharma PPS, Deputy SP Khanna, Insp. Amandeep Singh, In-charge CIA staff Khanna arrested 03 accused in above said cases and recovered 10 grams Heroin, 15 pistols, 05 magazines and 12 cartridges.

Continuing the campaign, Pawanjeet PPS Deputy SP(D) Khanna, Rajesh Sharma PPS, Deputy SP Khanna, Insp. Amandeep Singh, In-charge CIA staff Khanna arrested 03 accused in above said cases and recovered 10 grams Heroin, 15 pistols, 05 magazines and 12 cartridges.
On September 4, 2023 CIA staff Khanna police party was patrolling near Lalheri village for checking of suspicious persons. During patrolling, they noticed a young man, who started running away, after seeing the police party. The suspect was rounded up by the police party and was questioned. On questioning, he revealed his name as Vishal Kumar R/o House number 26, Ward No- 04 Jagat Colony, Lalheri Road, PS City Khanna, District Ludhiana. During checking, 10 grams of Heroin was recovered and FIR no 144 dated 04.09.2023 U/s 21/61/85 NDPS Act PS City Khanna was registered. During the investigation of the case and revelations made by the accused, 01 pistol .315 bore was recovered and subsequent addition of section 25-54-59 Arms Act were made in the concerned FIR on date 05.09.2023. Further recovery of 01 pistol .315 bore was made on date 06.09.2023 as per the disclosures of the accused.
Further investigation and establishment of forward and backward linkages revealed that the accused bought these pistols from Virpal Singh@ Tony R/o Village Signoor, Gogawan, District Khargon, Madhya Pradesh. Virpal Singh@ Tony was then nominated in above said FIR (144/2023) on date 08.09.2023. After obtaining an arrest warrant from the court, the Khanna Police Party arrested the said accused from Khargaon Madhya Pradesh on September 8, 2023 and recovered 11 pistols .32 bore from his possession. It is also worth mentioning that accused Virpal Singh is a weapon manufacturer and a close relative to Takdeer Singh R/o Village Signur, PS Gogawan, District Khargon (Madhya Pradesh), who was also arrested by Khanna Police 02 months back with recovery of 04 pistols .32 bore and 08 magazines in FIR No 106 dated 06.07.2023 U/s 397, 379-B, 34,411 IPC and 25-54-59 Arms Act in PS City Khanna. The accused Virpal Singh @ Tony has been taken on Police remand and further linkages are being established.
In another case on date 06.09.2023, Police Party of PS Sadar Khanna was patrolling at service road near Bhadla for checking of suspicious persons. During patrolling, they noticed a young man, who got nervous on seeing the Police party and starting running. The suspect was rounded up by Police Party and was questioned. On questioning, he revealed his name as, Muhammad Yasin, R/o Village Bilari, District Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), now residing at SAS Nagar. During checking, 01 pistol .32 bore along with 02 magazines, 01 pistol .9 mm along with 03 magazines and 12 cartridges were recovered and FIR no 158 dated 06.09.2023 U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Sadar Khanna was registered against Muhammad Yasin. The accused Muhammad Yasin has been taken on Police remand and further linkages are being established.
Due to prompt action of Khanna Police 03 accused have been arrested and many major incidents have been averted. Further investigations of the cases are going on.
