Interactive seminar on topic “Mera Phela Vote Desh Ke Liye”
The Centre for Distance and Online Education, Institute of Social Science Education and Research & Institute of Educational Technology and Vocation Education, Panjab University Chandigarh organized one day interactive seminar on the topic “Mera Phela Vote Desh Ke Liye” at CDOE auditorium.
Chandigarh, March 5, 2024: The Centre for Distance and Online Education, Institute of Social Science Education and Research & Institute of Educational Technology and Vocation Education, Panjab University Chandigarh organized one day interactive seminar on the topic “Mera Phela Vote Desh Ke Liye” at CDOE auditorium.
The guest speaker, Prof. Surinder Kler Shukla, was heartily welcomed by Dr. Kamla, Department of Political Science, CDOE, Panjab University. She also moderated the session. She introduced the faculty members, research scholar and students with the main objective of the seminar which emphasized on the engagement of first time voters to cast vote for the progress of the country.
Prof. Shukla deliberate on the history of struggle of voting right and told how hardly our ancestors fought for their rights while on the other hand, we are blessed that we got all the rights on the very inception of our Constitution especially the Right to vote. Now it is our turn to use our rights judiciously. She encouraged the students to cast their vote responsibly. She emphasized on the importance of use of ‘right to vote’ for securing life, liberty and security of an individual. She also threw the light on an increasing participation of women in politics as voters which is positive sign for the progress of our country. During her speech, she cited very interesting examples to inspire the youth to cast their first vote for their Nation. Dr. Sucha Singh played some wonderful documentaries and video clips like “My Vote, My Duty” to make students of the importance of their vote. Students also took pledge to vote fearlessly and without being influenced by consideration of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement. Dr. Ravinder Kaur extended formal vote of thanks to the Speaker, faculty members, Research Scholar and Students. Prof. Emanual Nahar, Dr. Amritpal Kaur, Chairperson, Depptt of IETVE and faculty members of all the collaborating deptts were present on the Occasion.
