Ludhiana, November 7, 2019: In an interactive session on the “Impact of first socialist revolution on India’ was organized by the district unit of the Communist Party of India. Speaking on the occasion Com D P Maur Distt. Secretary, said that the socialist revolution on 7th November 2017 was a turning point in the history of human society as it moved forward to end exploitation of man by man and create a society based on justice and equality. Com V I Lenin, leader of the movement in the decrees immediately after the revolution pledged equal rights to women, healthcare and education for all, land reforms guaranteeing land to the tiller and worldwide movement against war & arms race. The Soviet socialist revolution firmly stood against imperialism and colonialism which were the highest form of exploitation. The Soviet state stood with and supported the national liberation movements globally. Com Charan Sarabha said that the Soviet revolution influenced Indian freedom struggle and gave direction to develop a self reliant economy in the Independent India. In present day situation there is need for unity among the developing countries to fight back economic, political and social onslaught by the imperialist countries on the under developed and developing nations. Others who participated in the discussion include Com Ramesh Rattan, M S Bhatia, Gurnam Sidhu, Vijay Kumar, Avtar Chhibber and others.
