The two days long national seminar was organized as a part of His Holiness Dalai Lama Chair by the Department of Gandhian & Peace Studies, and the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness Dalai Lama.

Chandigarh, November 29, 2024: Interfaith National Seminar on “Conflict Resolution in Relationships” concluded at Panjab University, here today. The two days long national seminar was organized as a part of His Holiness Dalai Lama Chair by the Department of Gandhian & Peace Studies, and the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness Dalai Lama.

Lama Yesheread the poem and other esteemed speakers Professor Anil Sarwal, Sardar Gurpreet Singh and Professor Mohammad Khalid, Goswami Sushil Maharaj, Brahma Kumari Sister Anita, Mr. Marazban Zaiwalla and Father Regi Thomas individually partake in their faith prayers for two minutes honouring the diverse beliefs that enriched the gathering and highlighted the strength our diversity.

On the behalf of the PU, Professor Savita Bhatnagar, Director Research Development Cell, addressed the gathering and read a Message from His Holiness The Dalai Lama

Each faith leader depicting through slides, case histories, discussions unfold an interactive participative seminar to bring out how conflicts can be resolved in relationships. Further emphasis was on conflict resolution education that fosters empathy, understanding, dialogue and tolerance, essential qualities for building harmonious relationships and promoting social cohesion. Moreover, Conflict resolution skills have profound impact on young people’s mental health and well-being.

The stress was on conflict resolution strategies, problem solving skills and effective communication techniques that enables the people to manage conflicts in a way that respects the rights and dignity of all parties involved and also enables persons to navigate complex social issues and to work towards creating a more just and equitable society

The seminar concluded with the valedictory session by presenting the report of two day Interfaith National Seminar and Prof. Ashu  Pasricha, Chairperson thanked all the guests and participants.
