International Accounting Day at GNA University

Jalandhar, November 11, 2021: GNA Business School at GNA University proudly celebrated and organized International Accounting Day. The event was duly organized for all the UG & PG students of GNA Business School. The main objective behind organizing this event was to promote the accounting profession and making the young minds enthusiastic towards accounting through a blend of different activities and to create awareness among them about recent evolutions and trends in accounting sector.
Mr. Gaurav K. Mangar, Assistant Professor, GNA Business School coordinated the event.The International Accounting Day included a series of three sub events namely Accounting Quiz, Slogan Writing on Green Accounting and Guest Lecture Series on Forensic Accounting and Data Analytics by CA Vikram Vijh, Partner VP Vijh & Co. and on Global Accounting by CA Sonia Arora, Chairperson, Jalandhar Branch of ICAI.
The event commenced with the start of the Accounting Quiz Finale Round which consisted of five teams which were shortlisted from 47 teams via a preliminary competition. Simultaneously, the Slogan Writing was also organized wherein students inked their beautiful thoughts on Green Accounting. After these two events, the Guest Lecture Series started which was firstly taken over by CA Vikram Vijh who detailed a complete picture on what Forensic Accounting actually is and how it is relevant in today’s scenario. CA Sonia Arora later took forward the session in which she threw light about Global Accounting and its need in the recent times.
After the end of the Guest Lecture, a Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Sameer Verma, Dean- GNA Business School to the esteemed guest speakers and to his team for conducting such a wonderful event. The winners were felicitated with Certificates and Mementos. Thus, the event ended on a marvellous note.
