International airport would not only have created lakhs of jobs, but would have also put Meham on world map: Deepender Hooda
Congress Candidate Deepender Hooda said that if an international airport was built in Meham, it would have not only created lakhs of jobs, it would have put Meham on the world map. He said all the projects kept going from Haryana one by one, but the BJP government of the state kept its mouth shut.
Meham, May 14, 2024: Congress Candidate Deepender Hooda said that if an international airport was built in Meham, it would have not only created lakhs of jobs, it would have put Meham on the world map. He said all the projects kept going from Haryana one by one, but the BJP government of the state kept its mouth shut.
“14 out of 15 MPs from Haryana in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, including the sitting MP from Rohtak, belong to the ruling party but no one even raised any voice to protect the interest of Haryana. I have been raising my voice in defence of the interests of Haryana since 2014 from every forum, including the Parliament, that the approved Meham International Airport, equivalent to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, should be established in Haryana at any cost,” he said.
Deepender said today people have clearly understood that this government has nothing to do with the development of Haryana. He questioned if Haryana does not have the right to development?
Accompanied by former minister Anand Singh Dangi, he recalled the by-elections held in the 90s, when Maham Chaubisi not only defeated the power, muscle power and money power, but also protected democracy by breaking the arrogance of the people in power. “All the tricks and rigging used by the government to win the elections failed and the arrogant government lost. Today once again the anti-constitution and anti-democracy forces are raising their heads, now the time has come that every section of the society should unite and protect the Constitution by voting against such forces,” he said.
Deepender on Tuesday visited villages of Meham constituency Dobh, Bahu Akbarpur, Kishangarh, Bhaini Bhairav, Bhaini Mato, Saiman, Farmana, Kheri Meham, Ganganagar, Bharan, Gaddi Khedi, Kharkada, Sisar, Bhaini Maharajpur, Bhaini Surjan, Bedwa, Bhaini Chandrapal, Nindana. He addressed public meetings in villages like Titri and Ajaib, appealing for vote and support for the Congress.
He said that despite being out of the government, the work of Hansi-Meham-Rohtak railway line was also completed with a lot of effort. “Rohtak-Maham-Hansi new rail line project was approved in 2011 with the participation of UPA and Hooda government. We got the budget approved in 2012 and the work started in 2013, by holding a rail-road rally in Hansi and laying the foundation stone by the current Congress President and the then Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge. We kept pursuing the project, till the work was completed. There came a time when after the change of government in the state, it was put on the back burner. I staged a protest in Hansi and Meham to start the work, and when the Chief Minister said they could not find the file, he sent the complete file by post. In the last 10 years, BJP and BJP-JJP governments have not done any work except looting the state,” he added.
Deepender said till 2014, Haryana was number 1 in providing employment and on every scale of development, but the state is now number 1 in terms of unemployment, corruption, inflation, drug addiction, crime and arrogance of the BJP government, while it has reached 17th place in development rate.
“Today there is an unemployed person in every household. Unemployed youth are forced to seek their future in drugs, crime or abroad. No one is heard anywhere, every section is being ignored in the BJP government. Seeing the huge resentment among the public against the government, BJP changed the CM, Deputy CM, all the ministers before the elections, and broke their alliance,” he stated.
He said that when Congress government is formed in Haryana, old age pension of Rs 6000, 300 units of free electricity would be given to every family, LPG cylinders would be given for Rs 500 to every home, old pension scheme would be given to employees;
Deepender added that the scheme of free plot of 100 yards will be started again for poor, backward and SC families, an instalment of Rs 3.5 lakh will be given for the construction of a house under Indira Awas Yojana. “By ending the temporary recruitment policy in Haryana, time bound and firm recruitment will start on 2 lakh posts along with reservation and pension,” he said.
He said the Congress government will guarantee MSP to farmers, and will come up with a policy to make sanitation workers, village watchmen, MNREGA permanent, and will increase the rights of Asha workers, Anganwadi and Panchayat sarpanches.
