Jalandhar, November 8, 2014: International Conference on ‘Future and Challenges of Computational and Integrated Sciences’ concluded at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya on Saturday.

On the second day Dr.Sithu, ABB Corporate Research India and USA, Dr.S.P.Gupta, Professor NITTTR Bhopal, Dr.Sonika Tyagi, Team Supervisor, Australian Genome Research Facility Ltd.Australia and Dr.Balvir Kumar, Deputy Director, DRDO Chandigarh were the experts in the Plenary Session.  They spoke on Manufacturing of Software, Molecular Computing, Use of DNA Sequencing in personal medicine and Weapons respectively.  The Plenary Session was followed by four technical sessions at four venues.  The themes for four technical sessions were ‘Information Technology, Data Mining, Data Warehousing and Simulation, Bioinformatics, ICT in Education.  These sessions were chaired by Dr. Sithu, Dr. Bhanu Parsad, Dr. Prabhjit Singh, Dr. Rakesh and Er. Balvir Kumar. 

Valedictory session started soon after lunch.  In the Valedictory session Dr. Daljit Singh, Vice Chancellor, Bahra University, Shimla graced the function as Chief Guest of the valedictory.  Er. R.S. Nagi, Commissioner, State Information Commission, Pb. made his presence as Presiding Guest.  Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj accorded a warm welcome to all the guests.

Dr. Sithu, Dr. Sonika Tyagi and Ms. Amandeep Kaur Sidhu gave their impressions of the conference.  The Presiding Guest Er. R.S. Nagi appreciated the value based education imparted by the college.  Chief Guest Dr. Daljit Singh, Vice Chancellor Bahra University Shimla appreciated the favourable changes brought in the college with the changing times.  Giving his opinion about the teachers he said ‘teachers are the soul of the society’. 

More than 500 delegates and paper presenters from all over the globe attended this conference.  As many as 250 research papers were presented during the two day International Conference.  Vote of thanks was provided by Harpreet Singh, Co-convener of the conference.  The stage was conducted by Urvashi Mishra and Jagjit Bhatia. 

On this occasion, M. Syal, Sangeeta Arora, Conference Convener and Head Computer Science Department Anil Bhasin, Gullagong, Gurmeet Singh, Sangeeta Bhandari, Jagjit Bhatia, Ravinder Mohan Jindal, Urvash, Sonia Mahendru, Pardeep Mehta, Purnima and other faculty members were present.
