International conference on “Computing Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” ICCAAIML-2024 commenced at Panjab University (PU) campus, here today.
Chandigarh, December 16, 2024: International conference on “Computing Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” ICCAAIML-2024 commenced at Panjab University (PU) campus, here today.
The Two-day conference is being organised by the Department of Computer Science & Applications, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh. The International Conference is aimed at emphasising to advancement in the field of computer sciences, Technology and Management Innovation through interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.
PU Dean of University Instruction, Prof. Rumina Sethi inaugurated the conference. Director, Research and Development Cell, Prof. Yojna Rawat graced the occasion with the ceremonial lamp lighting alongside distinguished members of the Department of Computer Science and Applications. Earlier, Prof. Sonal Chawla and Dr. Anuj Sharma welcomed the dignitaries. A book “Essential of AI and Machine Learning” authored by Dr. Anuj Sharma was also released in the inaugural session of the Conference.
In her inaugural address, Prof. Rumina Sethi very nicely illustrated the quotes from literature comparing and contrasting the role of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Prof. Yojna Rawat also shared her insights about Artificial Intelligence through relevant illustrations from Hindi literature primarily Idgah and Kabuliwala. She also highlighted the pivotal role played by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in our day-to-day lives.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Satyajit Jena, an accomplished academician from IISER Mohali. He captivated the audience with his talk on “Bridging Brains and Machines: The Legacy of Neural Networks in AI”. He discussed about AI and Machine Learning, role of future quantum and its fundamentals.
Prof. Elisa Barney Smith at Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden, brought forth the innovative concept of "Using AI & Machine Learning to further studies in the Humanities". She discussed about the use of AI & Humanities together and future challenges of such research problems.
In afternoon, multiple parallel sessions on Paper Presentations were conducted. Researchers presented their research work, chaired by esteemed faculty members of the DCSA, Panjab University.
