Chandigarh, September 28, 2024: The 38th Annual Meeting of Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI) and the International Conference on "Innovation and Future Perspectives in Neurochemistry" ended successfully today at Panjab University in Chandigarh. The three-day event provided an extensive platform for discussion of groundbreaking research and future advancements in neuroscience research.
The conference saw an impressive turnout of over 200 delegates, young researchers, clinicians, and scholars from India and around the world to exchange research focusing on neurodegenerative diseases, cognitive health, and therapeutic innovations in the field of neuroscience. The conference showcased interesting and exciting research through poster sessions, oral presentations and talks by early career research scientists.
The conference highlights alterations in neurochemical pathways involved in neuropsychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, Parkinson’s diseases, Alzheimer’sdisease and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The talks enlighten our understanding of how disruptions in brain circuits contribute to mental health disorders as well emotional challenges such as mood swings, irritability and anxiety. They have also emphasised on the role of genetics in neuropsychiatry and its personalised treatment.
Prior to the conference a workshop themed “Advanced techniques in molecular neurobiology” had demonstration session organized by Department of Biochemistry, PU, NABI, Mohali, and PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The meeting ends with a take home message “Development in neurochemistry research would be possible with integration of advanced techniques like omics, genetics and AI”.
For future perspectives, The Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI) announced plans to continue supporting collaborative research and knowledge sharing by conducting more workshops and local chapters.
