Bhai Ghanayia Ji Institute of Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with National Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) Chandigarh, Ladakh University and South Asian Behavioral Health (SABH) Foundation, SFO, USA, Swar Sanjeevani Kala Kendra, Panchkula organized an international conference on the theme “Recent Rehabilitation Strategies for management of Stress and Anxiety among students and teachers” on 11th and 12th August at CIL Seminar Hall of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, August 12, 2023: Bhai Ghanayia Ji Institute of Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with National Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) Chandigarh, Ladakh University and South Asian Behavioral Health (SABH) Foundation, SFO, USA, Swar Sanjeevani Kala Kendra, Panchkula organized an international conference on the theme “Recent Rehabilitation Strategies for management of Stress and Anxiety among students and teachers” on 11th and 12th August at CIL Seminar Hall of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Strong determination and sympathetic company are always helpful in overcoming Stress and Anxiety the students face especially in the foreign lands, said Akanksha Singh, an M Sc Project Management student at Lancaster University, UK in her presentation made on the concluding day of the Conference. Akanksha Singh minutely related how she had varied experiences of stress and anxiety as she passed through different phases of her pursuit. These were preparing herself for seeking admissions in the U.K. as Project Management student, facing hazards of settling in the U.K. after reaching there, facing the entirely alien system of teaching and examination there, undergoing financial constraints at every step and at every moment, finding out a job to sustain herself during her stay in the U.K. and further pondering over plans to procure visa for her extended stay in a foreign country like the U.K. She further related how she overcame all the stress, tensions, worries and anxiety which she had to undergo at various steps of her struggle beginning in India and still continuing in an alien land. She revealed how her strong determination coupled with the sympathetic company of her husband there had always stood by her to face the stressful circumstances in pursuit of her ambition for furtherance of her academic career.

The conference concluded with a vote of special thanks to Prof. Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Prof. Rumina Sethi, Dean University Instruction, all the attendees of the conference, expert speakers from various walks of life for making the conference a grand success.
