International Day of Democracy celebrated at PU
The Department of Public Administration of Panjab University celebrated International Day of Democracy today. This year (2023), the day is centred around the theme of “Empowering of the Next Generation”.

Chandigarh, September 15, 2023: The Department of Public Administration of Panjab University celebrated International Day of Democracy today. This year (2023), the day is centred around the theme of “Empowering of the Next Generation”.
A Movie “Jai Bheem” was screened on 15.09.2023 at 2:00 PM in the Seminar Room of the Department. The movie deals with the subject of police bias and state violence against a marginalised community. The movie wasbased on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K. Chandru.
Faculty, Research Scholars and students of MA 1st and 2nd year watched the movie. Vijay Kumar, a student of MA 2nd year shared a concept note about the significance of theDemocracy Day.
Prof. Ramanjit K. Johal, In-Charge, Administrative Science Society gave a briefing about the movie and enthused the participants and motivated them for organizing such events around the year.
