International online mandala art competition organized by Home Science College
As many as 135 total entries were received on digital platform
Chandigarh: Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh organized an International Online Mandala Art Competition on the theme ‘Art as a Great Healer during COVID-19’. A huge number of participants both nationally and internationally enthusiastically participated in the event. As many as 135 total entries were received on digital platform, out of which 05 were received internationally and 130 were at national level.
Mrs Lippi Parida, a renowned artist, brilliant writer and a seasoned photographer was the judge for the competition. Beautiful and praiseworthy Mandala Art creations created by participants mesmerized the judge. The Mandala Art is a great healer as it relaxes and gives immense pleasure in creating new ideas. It shows the circle of life in relation with spiritualism. It also helps in keeping the negativity of COVID-19 away as it helps a human being to forget and get fully involved in his creation. First prize was bagged by Vishaka of Government Home Science College, Chd and Somanshi Varma, NIIFD, Sec-8, Chd. Second prize was bagged by Prateek Sullar and Amandeep Attrey of Government Home Science College, Chd. Simran of Prem Chand Markanda College, Jalandhar and Khushi Jain of Government Home Science College won the third prizes. Consolation and Special Prizes were also awarded to the students from University of Queensland, Australia; Narsee Monjee Institute of Management, Maharani Kishore Jat Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Rohtak; SD College Jalandhar, IIHS Kurukshetra University, PGGCG-11, Chd, SD College Ambala Cantt and Government Home Science College,Chd.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal, conceived and developed this idea for the Mandala Art lovers. She motivated the participants and all the artists to participate in such art events.
