Chandigarh, October 24, 2024: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organized an event on international open access week. Students of the department actively participated in the poster-making competition.
Shivangi Singh and Heenam (Junior Research Fellows of the department) briefed the students on open access, its significance, key characteristics, and types.
Prof. Rupak Chakravarty, Chairperson of the department shared his insights regarding the concept, and various initiatives such Research4life, Black Open Access, etc., in context with the current theme and its relevance in the library community.
Faculty members of the department expressed their views on the open access week and discussed the importance of unrestricted access to scholarly resources and its value for aspiring library professionals. Teachers took the interactive question-answer session at the end to address the queries of the participants.
