 Jalandhar, April 11, 2022: Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Doaba College Jalandhar  organized International Seminar entitled “Challenge of Globalization and Punjabi Literature”.The chief guest Padma Shri Dr. Surjit Patar graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Mr. Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer of Doaba College of Management presided over the function.

Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari welcomed the dignitaries and said that the Indian Knowledge and Tradition has a very strong base and its rich cultural heritage  has enabled us all to face the onslaught challenges of globalization effectively .He said that the Indian ethos and rich knowledge and tradition will equip India to become vishwa Guru in future.

Dr. Surjit Patar shared his valuable thoughts with the audience and scholars, he also shared the basics of how poetry emerges from his personal experiences. The seminar reached its climax with the creation process. When Surjit Patar presented his poems in lyrically .

The scholars -Prof. Bhim Inder Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala. , Dr. Manjinder Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar and Canadian poet journalist  Navjot Kaur Dhillon  presented research papers and Punjabi poet Surjit Kaur from Canada also specially attended the seminar.

These scholars were of the view that the very foundations of Indian culture are capable of responding to all sorts of challenges so that even the challenges of globalization could find new valuable ways to communicate with contemporary conditions.They opined that there is a need to be able to tackle the challenges of globalization even in the light of the Gyan tradition.

Dr.Ominder Johal thanked all the scholars who attended the seminar. The seminar was attended by students, researchers and delegates from various colleges and universities.
