International webinar series on Entrepreneurship opportunities after applied sciences

Jalandhar, November 8, 2021: PG Department of Biotechnology in association with Microbiologist Society India (MSI) Punjab unit and Innovation & Entrepreneurship cell of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized three days International webinar series on “Entrepreneurship opportunities after applied sciences”.
At this occasion, Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra Principal, was the chief guest. Dr Samra said these kinds of webinars are very important for society. In his speech he congratulated participants and specially praised Dr ADS and DR IJK from Dept of Biotechnology for organizing these kinds of webinars. Dr Arun Dev Sharma, Dean Research and coordinator of entrepreneurship and innovation cell of the college emphasized the role of science to society in present scenario of COVID.
Dr Inderjeet Kaur, Coordinator cum president of MSI, Punjab state welcomed DR Samra, Dr ADS, faculty and participants. In her opening remarks she told the participants about MSI and highlighted the various activities of PG Dept of Biotechnology of the college and its various activities. DR IJK said that how biotechnology is playing a wonderful role in entrepreneurship. She also enlightened about the role of other applied sciences in entrepreneurship.
In this webinar series, first day the resource person was MR Ashwani Mahajan from Global supplier quality lead, UK. He told the house about the role of various applied sciences like Mushroom cultivation, Vermicomposting to become an entrepreneur. He said that with stern vision and dedication one can become an entrepreneur.
During Second day of International webinar, resource person was Mr Vikrant Arora from Nirvi Agro Food Pvt Ltd., Banglore. He was alumnus of Dept of Biotechnology this college. He said that to become an entrepreneur, innovatve ideas are more important than money. We should always think of new and innovative ideas. He said that in setting up my company Biotechnology contributed a lot. In addition, he described about various processed foods his company is making.
During third day of the webinar, Dr Maria Kaerena Cordeiro, Managing director, Goan Paharma Pvt Ltd., Goa elaborated on “Entrepreneur a learning experience”. She emphasized participants to become entrepreneur with new ideas and ventures. She said that Govt of India is promoting start ups and giving grants in many areas for that.
At the end Dr Inderjeet Kaur, thanked Faculty and participants for attending this webinar. She specially thanked Madam Balbir Kaur, Dr GS Samra Principal and Dr ADS Dean Research. DR IJK mentioned that MSI in association with PG dept of the College will organize these kinds of webinars in future too. In this webinar there were about 258 participants.
