Ludhiana, March 7, 2014: Under the banner of NZIEA (Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association) International Women Day was celebrated by LIC women employees.

This issue is not confined to equal wages for equal work, though this is very important demand of women worker under un-organised sector. There has been a horrendous increase in violence against women and harassment of women at work places. This harassment can be resisted only when the trade union leaders and workers as a whole sensitised on the necessity of collective intervention.

Ritu Abaan again told that a meeting would be organised at LIC of India, Divisional Office, Dugri, Ludhiana on Saturday and all the women employees of LIC from local eight branches will take part in it.
