International Women’s Day celebrated at CGC Jhanjeri
Organised Women Achievers Awards 2021 Ceremony
Mohali: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri celebrated Women’s Day at its campus with Singing, dancing, motivational speeches, cake cutting, selfies, smiles, stories.
The event started out with insightful words from Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC acknowledging and appreciating the remarkable work done by women in diverse fields. He also talked of adopting one village wherein all the women living there were made aware of the different financial saving schemes and thus were empowered as part of Bharat Abhiyan.
Talking about women capabilities he gave the example of a railway station near Kanpur, called Gobindnagar which is completely managed by women. There is a train that runs from Chennai to Madurai which has complete female staff from the driver to guards. He also highlighted some of the discrepancies plaguing our society and needs to be eradicated.
Later, Director Management, Dr. Jaskiran Kaur, talked about having a future that is less gender biased. After the cake cutting ceremony Female staffs were honoured with awards in different categories including Woman Style Icon of the Year, Best Woman Performer of the Year, Emerging Woman Leader, Best Woman Achiever, Innovator of the Year, Woman Change Maker of the Year, Woman Employee of the year, Best Woman Mentor, and Best Woman Personality.
