International Women’s Day celebrated at KMV

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV) celebrated International Women’s Day. Mrs (Dr.) Urmila Devi, Joint Secretary, UGC, New Delhi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.  Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the chief guest. In her welcome address. 
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV has been the symbol of women empowerment since its inception. KMV was the pioneer institute in India who broke all the barriers of the society and started a new revolution in women education and women empowerment. She further maintained that women needs to recognize themselves & should realize their potential. 
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Urmila Devi lauded the contribution of KMV in women education and explained that women have always been an integral part of the society & has always played a vital role in the reformation and development of the society. She appealed to all that women should never be dependent on any man & should be able to take her decision on her own. On this occasion, a documentary depicting the rich heritage & legacy of KMV was also screened. 
Mrs Poonam also mesmerized everyone with her ghazal performance on this occasion. 
Mrs Seema Jain also read a poem on this occasion. Dr Madhumeet was the anchor of the whole program. /(March 8)
