International Women’s Week celebrated at CMC Ludhiana
The virtual CME was awarded 1 credit hour by the Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Ludhiana: The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana organized a Virtual CME on 13th March 2021 to symbolise International Women's Week. International Women's day is celebrated on 8th March every year. The theme for the CME was - Cervical Cancer Screening and Prevention to mark the WHO Global Strategy for elimination of Cervical Cancer by 2030.
The Organizing chairperson Dr Kavita Mandrelle Bhatti is Professor and Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana. The chief guest for the event was Dr Lakhbir Dhaliwal, a Senior Gynaecologist at Chandigarh and alumnus of CMC Ludhiana. There were eminent speakers and faculty from Delhi and Punjab. Dr Neerja Bhatla, Dr Anita Sabharwal and Dr Saritha Shamsunder from Delhi who spoke on Global Strategy for elimination of cervical cancer, screening methods and treatment of preinvasive conditions of cervix. The CME was held under the aegis of Ludhiana Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society and was attended by over 100 participants. The virtual CME was awarded 1 credit hour by the Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
